Male Supremacy Do not think me mean in sending this, I am not out to slander anyone's religon But I do think that all should read this. I am a firm believer that all men and women are created equal in the mind. They're are obvious biological differnces and for what the following is about I believe that these should be ignored. Not permantly for these diffences are what life is about but that is a subject for another time. My wife had found this artical in Haden ID. Knowing me the way she does and my standpoint on religons she brought this home for me to read. Having read this I belive that everyone should read this. Print this out and pass it around. Copy it, Email it. Get it out. This is a good subject for conversation. Do Not Ignore this subject, Your daughters, wives, sons, and husbands will all benefit. The only thing that I ask for is that if you email it on please delete the headers, don't make this email too large with the headers. and Please leave this little bit of Commentary, errors and all. I am not perfect but I belive that all should have a chance to understand what I am trying to say. It starts after a statement by our sponsor,
Mark Twain. "Don't go around saying the world owes
you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." This article was found in the Nickels Worth Paper in Haden ID Male Supremacy Is A Social Disease This Mormon stuff must be catching. The Southern Baptists went to Salt Lake City to convert the Mormons. But they hadn't been there for more than a couple of days when they suddenly found themselves declaring that Southern Baptist women ought to knuckle under to their husbands, the way Mormon women have. Actually, Mormon's don't have any monopoly on male supremacy. Most religions, Christian, Muslim, and otherwise, are pretty clever at keeping a lid on the pretentious of women or "broads," as deeply religious people prefer to call them. But the visit to the Mormon Rome proved
infectious to the Southern In other words, my wife is like the church and I am like Christ and she better not forget it if she knows what's good for her. (She gave me permission to say that.) Or maybe I misinterpreted the words. It says my wife should submit graciously to my servant leadership (that'll be the day). Does that mean I am the leader of the servants, most especially including my wife? Or does it mean I am the servant of my wife presuming the lead and she should humor me in that delusion the way Southern Baptist women do the pompous old poops they married? Most churches in the world try to keep a lid on the uppity nature of wives and other servants. And it could be worse. Some churches make women wear veils. I'm glad that didn't get started here because if it did, I'm the ugly one in the family and you'd never see this kisser in public again. (Stop applauding.) But the Southern Baptists should have known better than to march into Salt Lake City and to expect to escape ecclesiastically unscathed. While most churches keep their broads under control, the Mormons are especially adept at that. They have, like most churches, reserved follial leadership for males and not because men are so smart, as the men in the Southern Baptist Convention have now demonstrated so eloquently. Worse, from a female standpoint, the Mormons are run by male leaders who drank one high-fat milk too many and now think they are smarter than women. Consequently men are in charge, as they are in most churches. But the Mormon Leadership is democratic. It is open to every man and half-grown boy, so long as he isn't a woman. Any man caught being a woman is excluded from leadership. The odd part is that so is every woman caught being a woman. Every manly man and almost manly boy is eligible for the ruling "priesthood." The catch is that the Mormons have never found the time to create a priestess hood of equal rank and influence. (I thing they were too busy trying to convert the Southern Baptists.) Black people, male and female, were once denied the same full-fledged membership/leadership status. But the maximum leader of the church had a revelation two decades ago so now the male leaders of the church grant to black men what they have yet to give their own white wives, or to their black wives, for that matter. Some female Mormons have built a tidy rationale for their subjugated status. And I don't just mean that they accept the fact they aren't generally tall enough for the Birmingham Young University basketball team. "I am a member of the priesthood," a female Mormon friend once told me, "every time I wrap my arms around my husband." By that standard, I am a stunning 59-year-old woman who teaches college and sleeps with Bill Hall. (The Catholics have a problem in the male supremacy realm too, but they tried to meet their women halfway by having male leaders wear skirts.) Oh, there are a few churches where men and women are equal. The Unitarians, for instance, have women pastors (though they continue to refuse full equality to conservative Republicans). A person rally has to be careful when committing to the prideful sin of invading another's church's turf and condescendingly trying to save the fools from themselves. God'll get you for ego trips like that. The Southern Baptists went out door to door in Salt Lake City. And the next thing they knew they felt and insane urge to declare women inferior. I don't know if God will get the Southern Baptists for that, but wait until their wives hear what happened. <END> |
